Fellow:

In addition to the requirements for the Associate Grade as set out below, candidates for entry or advancement to the Fellowship Grade should be not less than 35 years of age and will probably have gained at least ten years experience in a land related post. Direct Entry Fellowships may be awarded to members of the profession with exceptional experience, who in the opinion of the Qualifications and Membership Committee meet the Fellowship requirements.

Associate:

Election to Associate grade is available to holders of the following:
Final Examinations of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Institute of Rating, Revenues & Valuation (IRRV)
Degree in Land Use Studies
Law Degree or other approved Degree or equivalent qualification
Direct Entry Associateship will be awarded to members of the profession who already hold qualifications recognised by the General Council as exempting them from examination and who otherwise meets the Associate requirements.

Member:

Election to the Membership grade is available to candidates who have passed:
Part II examination of the RICS and IRRV or other approved professional body
or to holders of:
Certificate of Estate Agency (CEM)
Higher National Diploma (HND)
Higher National Certificate (HNC), or equivalant
in a land related discipline.

In this grade, Council may also consider applications from suitable practiced-qualified persons, usually with not less than seven years experience in a land related discipline.

Affiliate:

Election to the Affiliate grade (without designatory letters) is currently available to candidates who have passed:
Part I examination of the RICS & IRRV or other approved professional body
or to holders of:
National Diploma, National Certificate or GNVQ in Construction/Land Administration.

Membership:

Application for Corporate-Body membership may be made by a corporation, public organisation, company or other body of persons grouped together for any purpose relating to the profession of the land or associated activity. Subscription rate and further details on application to the Chief Executive.
